Cashmere Flurries.

Oh it's finally snowing here! I've only been waiting the past couple of weeks for this "winter wonderland" to actually arrive. We've been in this wet rut for a bit now and twas getting quite old.

It's the big moist guys too, my favorite type of snow.

So I thought that I would share my favorite holiday specials with you. The first: cashmere. As one can assume, I am quite a fan of this soft fabric. I really got into the adoration a couple of years ago thanks to the effective advertising in J Crew magazines. I would spend hours adoring the "Italian cashmere" in all of these beautiful colors and putting cashmere at the top of my Christmas list. It's incredibly special to me and although I am not on that ever-searching hunt for cashmere items, I still love it when I find a special cashmere article of clothing.

The second would be my favorite holiday colors. Now I know that there are common holiday themes that come this time of year, the most traditional being red, green, and white. My favorite, however, would be pink, silver, and gold. In fact, my room's displays are in such colors! I just find them incredibly feminine and crystalline. They're classic and glamorous and continue to be a constant in my holiday wardrobe.

So thanks to cashmere and snow, I had myself a happy day.

What I wore: pink chunky statement necklace (used), gray SAMANTHA TAYLOR cashmere top (used), pink pleated H&M skirt (used), silver ballet flats.

Some Good Things Come in Tall Packages.

Today was our special yearly trip down to the Homer production of The Nutcracker.

It feels like Christmas is finally here after watching the lovely community version of the classic holiday classic of The Nutcracker. Because Homer is such an eclectic town anyway, their vision for the show is always a little out of the box and unique. For instance, this year, they had dub-step incorporated Tchaikovsky music with full on robot dancing and even glow in the dark hula hoops incorporated! It's a nice refresher and I can tell that the performers are having fun and so it's a nice change from the classical. And the costumes and sets are always top notch as well.

Plus, I just feel like the holiday season has truly arrived once The Nutcracker has come out. It's like, Hey, time to decorate and really get into the spirit of the season. Because let's be honest here, our house isn't decorated yet- we have the lights outside and some miscellaneous decorations here and there, but now that we saw the show, I think the inspiration for getting in the mood of Christmas has finally arrived.

Besides the great show, Homer always has a craft fair as well with unique booths selling Alaskan goodies and such. There's food, photos with Santa, goodies you don't need, and plus, it's a wonderful occasion to dress up. I know we have so many opportunities to put on some red lipstick and high heels here. ;)

'Tis the season, I suppose!

And can we talk about the fact that I felt like a present today, tied with a big red bow. I'm not complaining though! I loved it.

Lunch this afternoon was one of the many delicious restaurants in Homer, Alaska- Two Sisters Bakery.

First, we begin with a signature holiday classic- eggnog latte.

Then we move on to the main meal- thai peanut soup.

And skipping towards dinner, and after the lovely Nutcracker, we find solace in the cozy Mermaid Cafe.

My friend Caroline and I enjoy our drinks. I didn't actually have wine, it's my mum's. We split the latte, truly.

The tapas to start our meal were lamb sliders. Incredible.

After much debating between salads, pastas, pizzas, and more, I settled on this delectable treat- pan seared duck breast with Moroccan glaze and pomegranate pearls. Wow.

And to finish off the taste-bud explosion of our meal, we all split some desserts. Here, we have dried Nutella and banana ice cream with pink whipp cream. And it was magical, no joke. The Nutella was powder, yes? But the second it hit the moistness of my mouth, it instantly turned into the rich and thick original Nutella spread. How did they do that?

Oh, we're not done yet! Here, we have chocolate potdu cream over this peanut butter mousse with pink whipped cream and green tea sprinkles on top. What a mouthful, no pun intended. If I could eat like this everyday...

And here we close with bright and merry hearts.

What I wore: fuzzy abominable snowman PARKHURST shrug (used), vintage rhinestone earrings (used), black with red bow CORDELIA dress (used), black holed tights, and black FRYE boots (used).

A Song for Sunday- Mistletoe.

I know. I know. I'm pulling out the Biebs.

I'm not a huge fan myself, but I discovered this song on my Glee playlist on Pandora and the more I listen to it, the more I come to actually kind of dig it. Hey, it's catchy!

I feel like I should be doing a little dance every time it comes on. And it's not overly Christmasy, which is kind of nice for a change. I love the little guitar in the background, and I like his voice in this song.

It's definitely on my Christmas playlist, I'm not even afraid to admit it! I recommend it, I truly do.

Plus, I think it would be kind of nice to be kissed under the mistletoe someday. Not with Justin Bieber of course, but with someone special to me that I actually know. Ha. Seriously though, just give the song a chance! It's refreshing.

It's a Fabulous Friday.

Oh thank goodness it's Friday. I mean, not that I have school off or work off, but there is something satisfying about a Friday, being the end of the week and all that.

It's been a bit of a rough one with the weather these past couple of days. If its not below zero, it has to me freezing rain and icy roads. Honestly, why can't Alaska weather simply be snowy and nice?

On the bright side, I am forever glad that it isn't below zero! Anyhow, I just had some lovely and exciting little things that made my day today. Apparently, Amanda Bynes will be attending the same college as I ( SHE KNOWS CHANNING TATUM) and then one of my past crushes started following me on Instagram, and I had a lovely glee moment with squeals and jumping. The feels, man.

Also, we had a late night at Curtain Call this evening, a mini pre-holiday extravaganza for some ladies and ingot to get all dressed up and into the holiday spirit. I love this time of year. Truly. But there was one thing that did irk me. Oh yes. So apparently, a One Direction tee shirt came into the shop today and my mother called dibs on it. Oh yes, she did. She wore it all evening and showed it off, knowing that it bothered me. I mean, it's all in good fun, but in the end, I want the shirt. I do, I do.

I hope your Fridays all went as swell as mine did, and ending with a One Direction song title, "Live While We're Young."

I just can't even handle this.

What I wore: mustard silk J CREW blouse (used), vintage rhinestone necklace (used), black cashmere beaded neck J CREW tunic (used), black ribbed KATE SPADE tights, and sparkly J CREW loafers (major sale).

Throwback Thursday- Audrey Inspired.

A couple of years ago, I found out just how inspiring Audrey Hepburn was. I had heard of her, but of course, but I hadn't really taken the time to watch her films or see for myself why she is such an icon. Well, I finally did and was more than amazed at what I found out.

Audrey Hepburn is iconic for many reasons: her simplistic yet elegant style, her memorable and unique appearance, her lithe and graceful movement, the mix of accents of her voice, being Givenchy's muse, just to name a few. She's a total inspiration to me.

So I was up in my "Scrapbook Nook", as my dad likes to call it, probably making Christmas cards and watching movies to keep me company. The movie of choice was either "Funny Face" or "Breakfast at Tiffanys." Instantly inspired by the elegance and grace of both movies, I donned this cute little vintage inspired outfit and went outside to take some photos. Do you ever watch a film, listen to music, and then all of a sudden, you're in that mood? That happens to me all of the time and it reflects so in all of my outfits. I cannot express to you enough just how important dressing is to oneself. It literally says who we are. "Style is a way to speak to the world without words."

That being said, I thank Audrey Hepburn for being such a ladylike role model to me and for inspiring me to be the best version of myself.

Breakfast Club in Below Zero.

"We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all."Ah, one of the many popular and classic lines from one of my all-time favorite movies, "The Breakfast Club." I personally just love all of the timeless John Hughes movies anyway... "Sixteen Candles", "Pretty in Pink", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", you catchin' my drift? I'm a total 80's fan. It probably had something to do with the mention in "Pitch Perfect", so I give credit to them for reminding me of the good ole films.

Man, I just do not understand why our movies had to go on downhill! There are some good ones that come out of the blue, but I can always count on these guys to give me a good laugh and continue to inspire and make me feel good. And especially in "The Breakfast Club", I'm continually finding new things to laugh at (oh my goodness, when Brian's smoking, it is seriously my favorite thing), and new parts to cry at. The movie just targets so many problems that teenagers face or have faced at some point. Spot on, really.

Anyhow, since returning from Texas, we went from 70 to in the negative degrees. I woke this morning to a fancy -1 degrees (hey, it has been an improvement since earlier this week when it was -18 degrees so I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much). BUR. But at least we have some remaining snow on the trees so whilst I'm cursing the cold air biting the inside of my nose, making my bugar's freeze, it's at least a lovely sight out.

There is a connection between "The Breakfast Club" and the weather though! Can you guess? My outfit! Haha. I went all eighties style right down to the clunky boots that remind me of The Criminal.

And I just HAVE to end it with one of my favorite lines in the smokin' scene: "Chicks cannot hold their smoke, dat's what it is." Brian, you are officially the king of swag.

"Sincerely, The Breakfast Club."

What I wore: vintage knit chunky NAN SPORT sweater (used), high-waisted acid wash purple DIANE GILMAN capris (used), and baby blue TIMBERLAND chunky boots (used).

A Song for Sunday- Winter Song.

Tis officially the holiday season! Amazing, truly. One would think that it has been the holiday season for some time now thanks to marketing and advertisements starting way back in October. Gahh.

I am more than excited for this holiday season and so I'd thought I'd share with you one of my newfound favorite winter songs. Literally titled " Winter Song," I stumbled upon this lovely harmonic holiday treat last year in Arizona. I had been missing home quite dearly and every night of December up until I came gone, I would play this song before bed and would look at a photo of our Alaskan home all lit up with colored lights and I would smile.

This song is sung by both Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michelson and is just so lovely and cozy. It's feminine and it's perfect for the holidays. It just holds dear memories for me and its not necessarily about all the Christmas stuff, just more pure and pretty.

"This is my winter song
December never felt so wrong
Cause you're not where you belong
Inside my arms."

It just mirrored my feelings of homesickness and the togetherness of the holidays. Truly, it's my winter song to you.
