Oh beehive..

So it's early Friday morning and I was craving my signature con panna. Basically, what it is, is two shots of straight espresso (doppio), and then a dollop of whipped cream just gracing the top. Sounds delish, don't it? Try one. It's my favorite early morning pick me up. Speaking of morning pick me ups, and then breakfast since I'm kinda on that subject, I felt very Holly Golightly. My beehive 'do is due to a current musical that I'm in and my character Dee Dee requires a " Breakfast at Tiffany's" beehive. I was super excited that it didn't look messy and ratty cause I kind of slept in it. I LOVE it! Geesh, imagine if I had a hair stylist doing my hair every morning...

Throwback Thursday- Sweeeeeet.

Ever get inspired by even the littlest things? I know I do literally all the time, and today my ensemble was inspired by cake pops. Ok, and these are not ordinary ones, but the most scrumptious and delicious ones I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Seriously. And they're homemade too, so even better!

What I wore: BP sunnies, hot pink Escada Sport top (used), minty Tommy Bahama blouse (used), and Bobeau maxi skirt (used)

Long time, No see.

And so it has come to my attention that I have not posted in many awhile. In fact, it's been about a year. My deepest apologies. I was indeed out of state and whether that was my biggest excuse among others, I am returning and intend to continue recording my discovery in style and my adoration of bargain hunting. I would love to add some pinches of sugar on top of this blog, including my travels, unique finds, and maybe some cheeky things that make me laugh. We'll see.
As far as my pictures, I have made the conversion to an iPhone. My Internet is painstakingly slow where I reside, and so I'm going to experiment with a smartphone and see how that goes. Maybe I'll be more inclined and inspired to post more often as my Internet moves faster than a snail now. These pictures are currently the bi product of my beginnings. Before even starting a blog, I would stand in my room and print old fashioned pictures and put them in a book. Instead of having someone take pictures, I'm going to experiment with taking my own photos just like I started out doing.
One can imagine that one year abroad and being exposed to big city styles and culture, that I would have a lot to share. That is indeed the case and so aside from posting my usual, I may also do a kind of throw-back Thursday or something like that to share to you what has inspired me.  Again, I do apologize for briefly abandoning my dear blog for so long, but know that I am back for good! Merci.

What I wore: An American Brand blazer (Goodwill), neon pink necklace (used), Love on a Hanger lace top (used), pink Aerie bustier, Marithe Francois Girbaud denim shorts (Value Village), and teal Converse.

Festivus for the rest of us...

It's been awhile. Now that school is out, I've been working a lot at my job and unfortunately I cannot dress this extensively. However, I jump at opportunities to dress up- oh yes I do. For instance, this weekend, there's a river festival going on and so even with the wind blowing, I dressed up. Like I said, it's been awhile and as Kurt from "Glee" says "Every moment of your life is an opportunity for fashion."

*pink Aerie shades, flower earrings (consignment), tan Vanity jacket (consignment), my brother's old Michael Kors top (used), my brother's old (AG) jeans (used), a Dooney and Bourke backpack (consignment), Cole Haan men's shoes (consignment), and some fresh toasted and sugar coated almonds from the festival.

Well I had quite the discussion with some of my fellow peers in school. We talked a lot about fashion and style today. I had a tough time getting them to understand the difference between two very different topics: fashion and style, then buying cheap clothes and buying clothes for cheap prices. First off, they didn't believe there was a difference between style and fashion, and then they thought that I only bought expensive clothes. Okay, that's true in a sense. I buy expensive clothes USED, which is ultimately cheaper. I shop consignment stores and peoples closets. Teenagers are so tough to talk to sometimes! (:

*flower earrings, floral Leifsdottir top (consignment) (they all said it looked like curtains at an old ladies house), teal Frenchi shorts, and black sparkly TOMS.

Desert Going..

The days of school are almost over! So excited. So my parents just came back from a brief vacation and while they were somewhere warmer than here, they went shopping with a couple of friends. A couple of Italian friends. And the lady just so happened to find this romper for me. Since I had finals today, I decided to wear it and the romper is sooooo comfortable! Plus, picked by an Italian fashion guru... even better!

*gold dangly earrings (consignment), brown BCBGMaxazaria romper, gold vintage jewels (consignment), and Long Tall Sally sandals (warn onstage as Tiger Lily in "Peter Pan").

Feeling Fresh..

As the week passed (without snow, yet we had some unexpected hail), the sun came out and my inspiration for spring colors sprung forth. I believe spring is all about new beginnings, and even though where I live, it is a bit yucky outside, it doesn't mean one's closet has to be!

*Old Navy scarf (consignment), green PINK top, teal Frenchi shorts, two vintage bracelets (consignment), and blue Nanette Lepore by Keds flats (consignment).
