Giddyap Cowgirl.

"Out on the plain, down near Santa Fe
I met a cowboy, riding the range one day.."

Cow Cow Boogie indeed.

What's with all this western talk, anyhoo? Well, today, my girls and I had the opportunity of presenting a power point delving deep into the core concepts of any designer's new spring collection.

Obviously, about a zillion ideas popped into my mind, but what we ended up settling on was someone we hadn't done before (or seen done before), and whose products are pretty poppin'.

Charlotte Olympia, ladies and gents.

I may have mentioned here once before, perhaps when we took a stroll down Rodeo Drive?

Indeed, as you might've guessed, her inspiration and core concepts for her spring collection has to do with the Wild Wild West. So as per usual, all three of us dressed to the tee, cowboy boots and all, and rocked that presentation silly.

"Cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women,
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane.."

The more, the merrier!

What I wore: striped lumberjack shirt (used), white vintage dress (used), rhinestone vintage belt (used), and grey men's cowboy boots (used).

A Song for Sunday- Clouds & Act My Age.

Life got me thinking lately.

Here I am, living in Southern California attending the school of my dreams, working at fashion shows, watching runway shows in class, going to the library to check out the latest book on Coco Chanel, sitting poolside on my days off, and yet I haven't actually sat down and processed what all I've been doing.

And of course it would be One Direction that would pull me out of this dreamland I'm living to actually process whoa.

Lately, I've felt like I've been higher than the clouds. I'm just amazed that life could really be so good, and I'm forever grateful everyday for the incredible opportunities I've been given.

And it's okay to celebrate that, you know? I personally don't think we do it enough!

Clouds by One Direction is about love, naturally, about the nonstop excitement that is love. A kind of love that takes you higher than the clouds, a love that you never wanna come down from. And whilst I'm not in love with a particular (man) per say, I'm in love with life. I don't wanna come down from the clouds!

Plus, whenever I listen to this song, I feel so loose and joyful. I feel like anything is possible.

"Here we go again
Another go around for all of my friends
Another night stopped will it never end
We're never coming back down
Yeah we're looking down on the clouds..."

The second song on their album, I simply couldn't resist. This song was actually the first song that I instantly fell in love with on their album, mostly because I love me a little humour and honestly, it sounds like a total Irish jig and you can't help but get up and shake dem hips!

Act My Age directly relates to a recent project I just completed. In my Effective Speaking class, we had to do an honor speech on someone who greatly inspires us and I chose to do my doll Jess. I went on to say how imagination is greater than knowledge, so why can't we imagine a world where we age in numbers, but not in heart!

For crying out loud, I still play with a doll and I'm almost twenty and I will not act my age if that means giving up toys that bring me joy and allow me to be creative and imaginative!

"When I'm fat and old and my kids think I'm a joke
'Cause I move a little slow when I dance
I can count on you after all that we've been through
'Cause I know that you'll always understand

I won't act my age, no I won't act my age
No, I'll still feel the same around you
Hey!"

Bringing Color to a Cloudy Day.

I myself enjoy cloudy days.

I enjoy the days that differ from the rest, for they're unusual and they mix things up. I like things mixed up every now and then!

With the weekend in full college swing (meaning multiple episodes of Mad Men and hours spent on homework with dance breaks in between), I decided to get out of the apartment and go out and about. Whitney joined me and we didn't get five steps out of the car before we realized that there was a slight drizzle raining down. Hark the umbrella!

We just brought a little color to an otherwise cloudy day here in So Cal, and it felt fabulous.

"I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain.."

What I wore: polka dotted vintage handmade jacket, orange GAP dress (sale), and knee high FRYE olive boots (used).

And sorry, but I just love playing around with filters! They add so much dimension, and they can totally recreate a photo into looking more vintage.

Tales of Tulle & Library Romps.

It seems to be the quarterly tradition, this photo-shoot in the FIDM library.

I mean, in all seriousness, you can't really blame me. The library is bloody brilliant. Schiaparelli pink floors, shelves upon shelves of every fashion book known to man (and more), and an endless aura of tranquility and knowledge to be learned.

There is something absolutely special about reading, and when you give a girl the proper book, especially a book on what she loves, there's no stopping her.

So think of today as like the scene from one of my favourite films of all time Funny Girl.

She was fascinated with words. To her, words were things of beauty, each like a magical powder or potion that could be combined with other words to create powerful spells..
