New Years Eve and Back on My Feet.

Oh the last couple of days have been a gnarly one for me, indeed. I was struck with a horrible food poisoning incident late Saturday night and have been slowly recovering. Let me tell you, it was none too pleasant in the least. I was stuck in bed, had no interest in consumption of food or coffee (at that point, something is seriously wrong with me), no exercising, and complete laziness.

But what do you expect from a young woman who just had her tummy spun through the ringer?

Needless to say, I am feeling much better and would like to say am about recovered from this little sickness!

But good things have come my way in the darkness, for with dark shadows must come bright lights. I received a lovely package from FIDM, equipped with all this college gear that makes me all the more excited to go. I also have my dates booked for London and that makes me bloody mad with excitement. Also, my sister and I are almost done with the second season of American Horror Story, which will be a bittersweet finish to a groovy tv show. And speaking of, my meal tonight was inspired by a meal cooked in the show by Bloody Face- a Gouda Croque Monsieur and tomato basil soup. Success! And my first real meal in days.

"Sometimes, I just don't care!" made famous by Viner Marcus Johns. He is seriously a bundle of joy.

So you see, I haven't be too terribly deprived!

Seeing how it is New Years and all, I decided to go with my favorite holiday look- sequins! Paired with an Alaskan girl's winter essentials, it turned out to be pretty warm against the high winds and cold weather.

What I wore: BCBG "Fierce" necklace (Christmas gift), coral colored LUSH top (used), my brother's corduroy top, sequined FRENCH CONNECTION mini-skirt (used), black tights, pink J CREW socks (major sale), and black NINE WEST ankle booties (Nordstrom Rack).

I also spent the day with my fabulous sister.. Mostly eating the day away and starting the altogether wicked series of Harry Potter. Oh the childhood memories.

I must finish this post off early, even when it is 8:30. I'm volunteering tomorrow to raise money for our local food bank at my work and a girl must get her beauty sleep! I've never been one to full on celebrate New Years anyway.. I'm not the intense partying type (I much prefer family time and coffee cheers) and it's late for me to be up anyway. But I will wish you all a Happy New Year and will talk to.. Next year!

Cheers!

Peaches and Cream.

Today turned out to be splendid. I worked, put in a nap, and then had the greatest luck "working" at Curtain Call Consignment.

In reality, when I say "work", what I really do is shop most of the time. Oh sure, I help go through people's items, check customers out, and go through old inventory, but all the while, I am constantly bombarded with priceless items just calling my name. Try me on! They shout. Well, it would be rude not to..

I also think the time is coming up in which I introduce you to my YouTubers. I think it only fair that you should experience these feels that I live with. Plus, they make me smile, and anything that does that is sure to be on my list of entertainment. So look for that in the near future!

Today's ensemble came from my second favorite color: peach/coral. Paired with a light cream and it's genius. And although it was a whopping twelve degrees warmer from the past couple of days, there was a wind and so my coat and accessories decided to stay on. Oh the trouble of cold weather and decent outfit pictures...

At least I had my Vesspa coffee cup to keep my hands toasty!

What I wore: handmade peachy flower headband (practically a staple in any Alaskan girl's closet), vintage rhinestone floral earrings (used), navy BURBERRY cashmere scarf (used), cream beaded oxford collar BLU PEPPER blouse (Disneyland), peach J CREW sweater (used), kelly green TULLE jacket (thanks Santa), LTS high waisted jeans (tall people purchase), and cream FRYE boots (used).

Above at Last.

On my goodness how cold the last couple of days have been! It was the hardcore nose pinching, icy air, and frozen car door cold that leaves me shivering from the outside in and the inside out.

We have finally been blessed with warmer temperatures, a whopping positive three degrees today! My ensembles have been reduced to heavy costs and skin mostly covered. It's unbearable when it's like this and of course I don't want to go outside and take photos when it's this nasty!

Hopefully things will look up from now on because I still have all of these winter outfit inspirations simply waiting to be worn.

Here we are today! I got lots of comments today that I looked like an ornament.. Thank you?

What I wore: a Nordic inspired FREE PEOPLE sweater (used), red legging (used), oatmeal leg warmers, and dark grey EARTH boots (used).

Throwback Thursday- Minnie Kisses.

So we used to have a dog. Her name was Minerette but we all called her Minnie. We got her when we first arrived in Alaska as a pup, and she grew up with us for the last ten years or so.

Sadly, she passed away a couple of years ago..

You know, it's always hard to say stuff about how to cope with loved ones gone and then a totally different thing to actually try and cope. It was the first live being that I've ever known to have passed close to me and it was so sad but I realized that I had to appreciate the amazing and bountiful years we had with her.

I think of her constantly with the weather and especially this time of year when she passed. So technically, she's not really gone, for she's always in my heart and in my memories.

Today is just a little day for remembering her big ole sloppy kisses. The only harm she ever done to anyone was a nosebleed when she was jumping up for a little love! Oh Minnie. Anyhow, pets are precious that way, just as important as human beings, for they deserve respect and love. Maybe that's why I always cry on those dog commercials with "Angel" playing in the background. I am a weepy mess by the time that one is done, let me tell you!

I miss you, Moo.

Christmas at the Krull Kastle.

It's here and gone in the blink of an eye. The anticipation and longing had finally come to a close on this very frigid evening. Yes, 'twas a White Christmas, but a -13 one at that!

Anyhow, our Christmas Eve began a any other. Preparation all day for the fabulous and traditional wanton feast that we prepare. With a household of merry guests to go along with it, it's always an evening to remember.

Christmas Day was special too, of course! It's the day of His birth and one to celebrate being with the family. The unwrapping of all of those gifts under the tree was a fun one. One of my favorite little things is seeing the looks on people's faces when they receive something I gave them. It warms my heart so much! And the food... Always fine.

I sincerely hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. I know that New Years has yet to come, but I wish you all had a lovely Christmas season. I certainly did! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

My Christmas attire! I had to brave some gnarly cold temperatures for this. It was bitter cold and I had permanent goosebumps when I came back inside. But it was just too beautiful out to resist!

What I wore: vintage red bow dress (used), vintage Lilly Ann coat (used), gold sparkly BANANA REPUBLIC belt (super sale), and gold sparkly GUESS pumps (super sale).

It appears as if we are ready to rock and roll!

Preparing for the wanton feast!

Christmas morn... bright and early as always!

Cheers to a Merry Christmas!
