Throwback Thursday- La Vie en Rose.

It's true, I'm back from gay old Paris! And what a treasure that has been. It was my first time in Europe and although there were some mishaps (unfortunate pickpockets, lack of bathrooms, and ginormous crowds), the whole experience was extraordinary. Finally being able to see the true Eiffel Tower with my own true eyes is unbelievable. And walking along the Seine and seeing stylish couples having picnics along the water is like waking from a dream and realizing that the dream was real. And everyone is so accepting there! Although I wasn't completely down with the idea of nudes on the beach, I loved how one could get away with wearing anything one wanted- no judgements. It inspired me and so I'll share some of my outfits that I wore in one of the most stylish cities on earth!!

Life in Color.

A little while ago, one of my dearest friends noticed that I write in journals. Yes, it is no secret that I am an avid journal writer. I enjoy the release of feelings into something that won't spread those feelings or misconstrue them into something they're not. Plus, they keep me constant company and I find when I express myself in words, I release that tension and anger that would otherwise go towards a person. I am such an avid journalist that I am currently on my 29th and counting and one day, this friend thought it would be a fun idea to have my journals be my outfit inspiration. Always on the lookout for inspiration, I thought it to be a most clever idea. This particular journal, I think, is most appropriate considering the banner summer I've had.

What I wore: denim VIVALDI vest (Goodwill), forest green BLUSH bustier/corset, LIZ CLAIBORNE patchy skirt (used), birdy earrings, COACH caramel cross body (used), and NANETTE LAPORE aqua keds (used).

Throwback Thursday- Feeling Fro Fresh.

During most of my life, I've had long hair. In fact, I can hardly remember a time in which my hair wasn't above my shoulders! Most of this was due to my modeling agent's encouragements to keep it long and natural ( that didn't end up working. Other agents hardly ever commented on my hair), and my mom. Yep. So for a huge portion of my life, I have sufferered through endless mornings staring into the mirror trying to figure out how to stylishly style my over one foot long mane. Most of the time, I threw it into a bun because it was the easiest and quickest solution. I called it "big bun hair. " Well, that soon got old and I came to the realization that my hair actually looked stunning when down and styled correctly. Flat ironing took bloody forever and so I discovered crimping; however, it was done my way. Every Sunday, I would spend an hour or so and braid about 16 little braids in my wet hair, sleep on them, and then out they came in the morning. Total crimp action going on, let me tell you! I felt very rocking on those Monday mornings when I saw the natural finish to my creation. Now I know that hair can be a real pain to any girl, but I've learned that one has to appreciate what they are given and to work with why they have. In my situation at that time, I used my length and thickness, and with my shorter hair now, I'm discovering new methods to play with, forever evolving my hairstyles. Harry Styles. 😉

Summertime at its best.

So it has been the most gorgeous summer here in Alaska that I can remember. Day after day I wake up to repeated sun rays shining through my   window and I am actually requesting air conditioning because its been close to 80 degrees here. But hey, I am not complaining one bit! I guess that AK is not the only place for abnormal heating. I was watching some of my youtubers and heard that they were also having a toasty summer. It's so nice though! And you should see the tan I have now. Plus, I get to finally wear all my cute summer clothes. The livin' be easy.

What I wore: vintage bathing suit (used), white bandeau, floral PAPER CRANE top, and blue VIGOLD shorts.

Classic Colors.

So it's been a bit, has it not? I did have a smashing time this last week with my best friend visiting and all and so that's where I've been occupied. It seems that summer is flying by at the speed of light and here up north, the light outside barely gets dark. It is also that time of year in which people right and left have been asking me about colleges. Where do I want to go? What majors am I looking at? And I know it's the universal question for senior year, but I can't help feeling a snad annoyed at responding: "Um... About that.. Yeah, haven't really got a clue about what to do or where to go." I can barely decide if I want caramel or English toffee in my latte and now I have to decide the biggest decision in my high school career?! I keep thinking back to one of my favorite you-tubers video by Dan Howell on danisnotonfire (follow!). The ultimate question of what to do in my life. But you know, I'll play it cool and tell people honestly that I am undecided and leave it at that. On the bright side, I got some information from FIDM in California so that may be worth looking into.
To catch one up to date, I leave for France next week and am kind of excited. Actually, I'm stoked beyond belief! Outfit planning is the greatest and to get in the mood for ole Paris, I'm definitely dressing my best for one of the most stylish places on the planet.

What I wore: vintage black 40's style dress (used), vintage gold belt (used), and vintage red Salvatore Ferragamo shoes (used).

Bluesin.

Well, my morning was going just swell until I learned the tragic news that Cory Monteith had passed away yesterday. Now I didn't know him personally or anything, but it does make me sad to know that one of my most inspiring actors is gone. May he rest in peace.
Now to totally change gears, my best friend from Arizona is coming to visit me for a week and so I'm getting all dolled to to meet her. It's gonna be a fabulous week!

What I wore: a mod geometric LITTLE LIES top (used), an AMERICAN EAGLE gray tank (used), white vintage necklaces (used), LONG TALL SALLY high waisted jeans, black hair RALPH LAUREN flats (used), and black used sunnies.

Throwback Thursday- A Dash of Dare.

So as I grow and change as the years go by, my style grows with me. As I went through phases of colored socks, headbands, choppy tanks, and other items, I slowly become more aware of who I am and the style that emanates from my being. My year abroad in Arizona has taught me the biggest thing- to be brave and take chances. Going out of state for a year abroad took courage, and living there just amplified my love for being unique and not caring what other people think. I watched a movie once with Scarlett Johansson and one of the quotes truly caught my attention: " If we are so consumed with other people's thoughts, then what's the point of having our own?" So it was another stunner on the particular day and so I brought out my never worn used J CREW number and wore it out and about, bare tummy and all.
